Neither Rhyme nor Reason
Mix and match strips in sets of 3. I did not use the 2 cream strips when making the blocks or red strips.
Sew the sets of 3 fabrics into long strips then cut into 2 ½” segments. Then mix and match the 2 ½” segments making 9 patch blocks. Make 48 - 9 patches. (The remaining 2 ½' segments will be used for binding) Then sew 4 - 9 patches together making 12 ½” block. Make 12 of these.
Red Strips:
Cut red strips on fabric in half lengthwise these strips will be used for sashing between the blocks and rows. Five of the red strips will be used for sashing between the rows and for the top and bottom first border.
Cream Strips:
Sew the 2 cream strips and the cream background with small red flowers together placing the cream with red flowers in the center. Then cut into 2 ½” segments these will be used for binding.
Borders:
Cut 1 ¼” strips from red fabric in finishing kit and sew to side borders. Cut 5 2 ½” strips of brown fabric for next border. Sew top and bottom then sides. Last border using the 5” strips from others shops sew them together and add to quilt. Top and bottom then sides. Quilt and bind as desired. |
